Privacy policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
This policy covers the WLYL Parent app for Android ("the app"), published by Varchas Studios. The app lets parents of schools that use the We Learn You Learn (WLYL) school platform see their child's school information. Questions: thindaam.ai@gmail.com.
Who holds your child's records
Your child's school enters and owns the school records: attendance, fees, exam marks, timetable, calendar and notices. They are stored on the WLYL platform. The app only shows them to parents the school has linked to that child.
What the app collects and why
- Sign-in details. Your email address or phone number and your password, sent to the WLYL platform to sign you in. The app does not store your password. After sign-in, your phone's operating system keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in.
- Your parent profile. Your name, email and phone number, plus the children linked to you, as recorded by the school.
- Things you submit. Payment references (for example a UPI transaction ID) when you report a fee payment, acknowledgements of exam marks, and leave requests, where your school uses these features. They go to your school through the WLYL platform.
- Notification token. If you allow notifications, a push token for your device, so the school can send you notices. It is removed when you sign out.
What stays on your phone
- Which child you last selected, so the app opens on that child.
- Library textbooks you choose to download, so you can read them offline. They are deleted when you sign out.
What the app does not do
- No advertising and no advertising IDs.
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools from other companies.
- No access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone other than your child's school.
Security
All data between the app and the WLYL platform travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
How long data is kept
Your parent account is kept while your child's school uses WLYL and has you linked as a parent. Your child's school records are kept by the school under the school's own record-keeping rules.
Children
The app is for parents and guardians. It is not designed for children to use.
